The first goal is a complete loop

Think of progress as a chain: cut a tree, move the logs, turn them into planks, then sell or build. A premium axe only improves one link. If you are still dragging every piece across the map or have no place to mill it, a bigger axe will not solve the whole problem. Start near your plot and improve the slowest part of that chain.

Use a budget, not a shopping spree

The historical community price reference lists a Basic Hatchet at $12, land at $100, a Shabby Sawmill at $130 and a starter utility vehicle at $400. Together, that is $642 in gross purchases—not a claim about the extra cash you need after your starting balance. Buy in stages. Sell a manageable load, fund the next useful step, then repeat. Keep your first route short

Oak, Elm and Cherry are practical trees to learn on in the main area. Favor pieces you can actually transport and feed into your mill. Getting one modest load home reliably teaches more than abandoning a huge, awkward trunk halfway back. When selling, compare milled and raw rates for the exact species instead of assuming every sawmill multiplies value by eight.

Upgrade the bottleneck

When cutting is slow, compare conventional shop axes. When loading is slow, practice smaller sections and improve your vehicle arrangement. When the mill is the problem, check clearance and output space before spending on another axe. Silver Axe is a useful shop-reference target; Rukiryaxe is a separate quest project rather than a mandatory first purchase.

Before leaving the server

The community wood reference distinguishes raw logs from processed planks: raw logs are not saved as ordinary building stock on your plot. Process wood you want to keep, keep it on your own land, and use the game’s current save/load controls carefully. Do not assume an unattended pile on someone else’s property will persist.
